Taking the wheel of a supercar is every boy’s dream – and the new Porsche Driving Experience at Silverstone now means it can easily be turned into reality.

On arrival at the Northants site, you’re taken on a tour of the main building’s hi-tech gym, roof terrace and top-class restaurant. You also get to look at Porsches past and present in the superb museum. In a bid to tailor the day to your needs, a single instructor is assigned to each driver for the whole experience. You choose what you want to do, so I tried the outer handling track, ice hill, low-friction inner circuit and an off-road route.
