VW Passat CC: First drive report from Australia

We found a first drive report of the VW Passat CC from Australia.
There’s no doubt the CC’s exterior is a major attraction. The heavily sculpted body is avante-garde for Volkswagen. It has an almost continuously arcing roof, frameless windows and pronounced arches housing 18-inch alloy wheels shod with low-profile tyres. Up front the grille is more prominent than on any other VW model.
Inside, the CC has Napa leather trim and new-look instrumentation that is backlit in white rather than traditional VW-blue. The dual climate control interface, the three-spoke steering wheel and the front sports seats are all new. In the rear the two individually contoured buckets are separated by a storage compartment and cupholders.
It’s a combination that works well up front where the clean lines, efficient layout of the controls and quality materials are aesthetically and ergonomically pleasing.
