Audi A8: Next generation slightly delayed

Audi A8
The debut of the next-generation Audi A8 will be slightly delayed from the Frankfurt Motor Show in September to an exclusive event in Florida in December.
The 2010 Audi A8 has now been pushed back from its original debut schedule at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show to a remote location at an exclusive event in Florida sometime in December.

What for? Apparently, Audi doesn’t want the 2010 A8 being overshadowed by other auto shows debuts scheduled for Frankfurt. The design is said to be so revolutionary and important to Audi that it doesn’t want it to become “just another auto show debut.” The 2010 NAIAS in Detroit will be the first auto show to host the new A8.

Also Audi doesn’t want the 2010 A8 to kill the sales of the current model, which is still going strong in some markets. The 2010 Audi A8 is scheduled to go on sale in spring 2010.
