Set to grace the firm’s show stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 15th September, the car gets the same 16 cylinder engine that powers the Veyron coupe – mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
With the empahsis of the design and engineering firmly on ultimate luxury, the £900,000 model also gets a distinctive wood and leather trimmed interior, with room for four passengers.
Like the Veyron, which at 1000bhp offers a top speed of over 240mph, the Galibier also aims to the be the world’s fastest saloon. With a detuned 800bhp version of the Veyron’s engine under the boonet, top speed should be around 220mph.
To help improve the performance further still, a lightweight body, built of carbon fibre and aluminium will feature.
