VW Golf R: Unveiling at Frankfurt Motor Show

VW Golf R
The VW Golf R will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
We're still short on the details but we do know the Golf R will downsize from the previous generation Golf R32's 250HP 3.2-litre V6 to a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is the same unit used on the new Scirocco R. Expect to see similar output in the range of 270 - 280HP.

What we couldn't confirm is whether or not VW will upgrade the Golf R with a four-wheel drive system or if the company will keep the GTI's front-wheel drive setup as is the case of the Scirocco R.
