VW Beetle: Next generation comes with bigger backseats!

VW is working on improving the next-generation VW Beetle which is said to have bigger backseats.

Speaking at a recent press event in Germany, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Stefan Jacoby, said that the new Beetle will arrive in 2012. He said that the next-generation model will have more space in the back seat and will offer better packaging.

Jacoby said that the next Beetle will also be “more of a halo car” for the Volkswagen brand and is expected to bring in higher sales. The current Volkswagen Beetle peaked at 83,434 units in the U.S. in 1999.
