We found another interesting first drive report with the Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro.
Something–the quiet, groggy voice of our inner children most likely–made us resolve to press on. Et voila. As we turned inland from St. Raphael and began climbing the Massif de l’Esterel on the snaky Route de Cannes, the sun peaked out, the top went down, and everything changed. Fear of France’s draconian speeding laws faded along with signs of civilization, and we started making those 525 horses sweat in between corners, leaning just as hard on the big (14.4-inch front, 14.0-inch rear) vented and drilled brakes and bigger 19-inch Pirelli PZeros in the switchbacks. Our mood elevated, and our opinion of this car skyrocketed.
