I’ve been driving VWs since 1973 and while that doesn’t mean I’m an ‘expert’, I’d like to think I’ve driven enough of them to understand the changes they’ve gone through.
But, over the last 15 years or so, I’ve become increasingly dissatisfied with the model choices stateside. Yes, the ‘chicken tax’ is a pain, but I’m completely underwhelmed with the idea of 6 more sedans and econo-hatches. Where is the innovation that set them apart? The designs that were practical and had a sense of unique brand imaging? No ‘Volkyotas’ for me thank you very much.
