Porsche has revealed another monster car, the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS wide body. Awesome!
On the power side, the 3.8-litre engine with 408 PS (300 kW / 402 bhp) closes the gap between the Carrera S with 385 PS (283 kW; 380 hp) and the 911 GT3 with 435 PS (320 kW; 429 hp). The increase in power comes from a redesigned intake manifold with six vacuum-controlled tuning flaps for optimized power and torque geometry compared to the one tuning flap in the Carrera S. Torque of 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) is unchanged but hits peak 200 rpm earlier at 4200 rpm. Furthermore, a sport exhaust system is added with outer tips painted in black and the mid-pipes polished on the outside with nano-coating.
As a result, performance slightly increases with top speed gaining 4 km/h (2.5 mph) to 306 km/h (190 mph) (manual trans only) while acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h improves by 0.1 seconds rendering a time of 4.2 seconds for a GTS Coupe with PDK and a Sport Chrono Package Plus in Sport Plus mode.
