Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4: Latest intel about its powertrain

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

Here’s the latest intel about the next-generation powertrain of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4.

The Lamborghini V12 has been around in one form or another since 1963, back to the days of the 350 GT and Weber carburetors. The car set to replace the Murcielago, however, will be the first recipient of an all-new 6.5-liter V12, one that develops 700 hp and 508 lb-ft of torque, and developed with light weight and moderate emissions in mind, to go along with great performance and sound. It will be complemented by a new seven-speed robotized manual transmission, the ISR (Independent Shifting Rod). This is similar to VW’s DSG hardware in that it can pre-engage the next gear, but with faster shift times, compact dimensions and a weight of just 174 pounds.
