VW Motorsport chief Wolfgang Duerheimer told German car magazine Auto, Motor und Sport that he “could imagine involvement in Formula One in 2018, when the company is at the forefront of the industry.”
That is the year that VW plans to sell over 10 million vehicles a year and become the world’s largest automaker.
Duerheimer didn’t specify which brand it would be or whether the F1 team would fly the VW-badge flag.
