According to CAR, Porsche has scrapped plans to develop the 2015 model off existing vehicles. Instead, the supercar – reportedly codenamed the 960 – is slated to ride on a bespoke mid-engine Mimo platform (aka MSB-M) which hasn’t been green-lighted as of yet. Little is known about the architecture, but it will reportedly be highly adaptable and available in a variety of configurations.
Furthermore, the magazine says power could be provided by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter boxer engine with 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) and 550 lb-ft (745 Nm) of torque.
