The concept will be based on the E-Bugster concept (pictured) that was first shown at the Detroit Show in January, but the roof of this updated version will be removed.
When the Convertible reaches full production form, we expect to see the same engine options as its coupe sibling. This will include a 2.5-liter until as well as a 2.0-liter TFSI and a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. Transmission options will be either a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch system.
Following the debut of the concept we expect to see the official unveiling of the production model in either Paris or Los Angeles in September and November respectively.
