We found a nice rendering of the upcoming, next-generation Audi A3 Sportback. Rumor has it, that it might also find its way to the US!
The U.S. has long been a tough place to sell hatchbacks, which are often stereotyped as cheap or dorky. Premium hatches such as the current A3—as well as handsome examples of the breed like the current Ford Focus and Volkswagen GTI—have played some role in changing perceptions, but automakers still face an uphill battle convincing people to pay elevated prices for a car with a liftgate. That’s perhaps why the 2014 A3 sedan is the only variant Americans have been promised. All of that said, we don’t expect the five-door hatchback to stay away for long.
