VW will start production of the next-generation VW Golf in August and the European sales will start in November. Great!
But now we learn via a report from Autonews Europe that production of the Golf Mk7 will begin at Volkswagen’s German manufacturing plants in Wolfsburg and Zwickau in Germany, in early August and that the compact hatchback will roll out to European showrooms in November.
The new Golf will be the second model after the latest generation Audi A3 to make use of the VW Group’s modular transverse matrix (MQB) platform. It’s exterior styling is expected to be an evolution of the current model’s design DNA as Volkswagen does not want to alienate buyers of its most successful model series.
