We found fresh spy shots of the VW Golf station wagon. Have a look!
As expected, the Estate will share its front-end styling with the hatchback. But beyond the B-pillar, the stretched roofline and vertical tailgate maximise the Golf’s footprint on the road.
The current Golf Estate is smaller than the equivalent Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, but if the spacious new MkVII hatch is anything to go by, the 1,495-litre loading space is likely to increase significantly. There will also be a larger opening and lower loading lip to improve access.
The Estate is based on the same MQB platform as the hatch. It’s wider than its predecessor, with a longer wheelbase, and will provide more space for rear passengers.
