Audi will bring a facelift for the Audi A1 in 2014 as well as the long-awaited Audi S1. Also bad news: an Audi RS1 is not planned!
Fourtitude is reporting sources within Audi have confirmed the S1 will be launched sometime next year, along with the facelift variant of the regular A1. No news about what will power the Audi S1 but it might get a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine producing 220 HP (162 kW) linked to the quattro all-wheel drive system.
As for the RS1, this probably won’t see the light of day because someone at quattro GmbH thinks there isn’t a market for such a car and if put into production, the RS1 would be too expensive in a market which is price sensitive.
