Porsche 991 Targa: Spy shots from winter testing show removable top!

Porsche 991 Targa

We have brand new spy shots of the next-generation Porsche 911 Targa during winter testing and featuring a removable top. Targa lovers rejoice!

Now, Porsche is returning to a retro-style targa hard top with a center roll bar in front of a fixed, wraparound glass rear window, which in this test car, were covered up in a fabric top to give the illusion of a convertible model.

Porsche hasn’t been clear about the engine and transmission options that will be available on the new 991 Targa, but it’s almost a given that it will be offered with the base 350PS (345hp) 3.4-liter flat six and the stronger 400PS (395hp) 3.6-liter unit in “S” guise, though, we’ll have to wait and see if these powerplants will be combined with rear- and/or all-wheel drive configurations.
