VW has unveiled the VW e-Co-Motion concept at the Geneva Motor Show.
The German automaker describes it as an “electrically-powered city delivery van” and could hint at a potential future green commercial vehicle from the VW Group. Its electric motor is mounted to the rear axle and works together with a single-speed gearbox. It has a maximum output of 115 HP (85 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft), while the continuous power output stands at 68 HP (50 kW).
It can reach an electronically-limited top speed of 120 km/h (74.5 mph) and can be driven for about 100 km (62 miles) when fitted with the 20 kWh battery. Volkswagen says with a larger 30 kWh battery the concept will do 150 km (93.2 miles) before running out of juice. If a 40 kWh battery is installed, the e-Co-Motion can travel for around 200 km (124.2 miles).
