Audi: Working on VW e-up! based premium EV

Audi EV

Rumor has it that Audi is working on a premium electric vehicle based on the VW e-up! by 2015.

They explain that the car will feature different styling, a much-improved interior, reflecting its premium status, and a high-spec infotainment system.

Also, its battery pack of unspecified capacity will reportedly be capable of taking it 200 km (125 miles) on a single charge, more than the e-Up!, which can only manage 150 km (93 miles) – it uses an 18.7 kWh pack.

Performance will also be better than that of the e-Up!, as the Audi is reportedly getting 116 PS (114 hp) and 270 Nm of torque, or 199 lb-ft. The information goes even further and tells us the car will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.3 seconds and have a top speed of 150 km/h
