Street word has it that Audi will show a successor of the Audi Sport Quattro at Frankfurt Motor Show.
Autozeitung says the model will be sportier than the 2011 Quattro concept and have a “much sharper” shape than the original study.
The car is also expected to incorporate a number of lightweight components including carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), aluminum and magnesium. This could enable the model to tip the scales at just 1300 kg (2866 lbs).
While the Quattro concept used a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that developed 408 HP (300 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque, the new model is rumored to have a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces up to 650 HP (478 kW). This could enable the car to rocket from 0-100 km/h in as little as 3.4 seconds.
