Nice video here of the Porsche 918 Spyder doing some hot weather testing in Nevada.
As we have previously reported, the 918 Spyder features a 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 608 HP (447 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. It is backed up by two electric motors – producing 156 HP (115 kW) and approximately 129 HP (95 kW) – which power each axle. This enables the car to have a combined maximum output of 887 HP (661 kW) and more than 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the complex powertrain the 918 Spyder can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, hit a top speed in excess of 340 km/h (211 mph) and travel approximately 30 km (18.6 miles) on electricity alone.
