Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir: Review

Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir
Here's a short review of the Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir.
It features unique wheels, fresh headlights with a black background, chrome mirrors and a new, more complicated wire grille.

The modifications have been designed as a tribute to Bugatti’s Atlantique 57S from the Thirties. As with that earlier car, the Sang Noir will be made in very limited numbers.

Only a handful are ever likely to see the light of day – although their owners will be able to enjoy a cabin that’s exclusive even by Bugatti’s standards. Features include a rear view mirror clad in bright orange leather! Bosses have yet to confirm how much the Sang Noir will cost. But considering panels such as the bonnet are made from expensive lightweight carbon fibre to match the rest of the black bodywork, the 8.0-litre monster is likely to top the £1million price of the Pur Sang limited edition that debuted last year.

Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir: Darth Vader's ride

Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir
If Darth Vader would drive a car, it would definitely be the just released Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir. Awesome ride!
A darker, evil-er Bugatti Veyron has been born to run alongside the Pur Sang: the Sang Noir. Word is the newest variant has been created to be a tip of the hat -- that would be "chapeau!" in French -- to the Bugatti Atlantique 57S. It gets a slightly different front grille with matching side mirrors, black headlight surrounds, exclusive wheels, and an interior dressed in what looks like electric orange.

Bugatti Veyron Targa: More information

Bugatti Veyron Targa
Here's some more information about the Bugatti Veyron Targa.
Featuring a removable hard-top roof panel, it will deliver an incredible driving experience thanks to its 987bhp 6.0-litre W16 engine – and all at an amazing price. While the ‘standard’ car costs £840,000, the Targa is likely to be close to £900,000!

Only 80 will be built, against 300 for the coupé. But engineers are said to have decided against a full convertible as the Targa-style opening was the only roof that would fit inside the Veyron’s safety cage.

Even though the hard-top will be removable, there will be no space for it to be stored inside the car. If the heavens open, though, owners can make use of a fabric cover that can be extended to protect the cabin.

To cope with the loss of structural rigidity brought about by the removal of the roof, engineers will reinforce the Veyron’s chassis – a process which is likely to add to the model’s already hefty 1,950kg kerb-weight. As a result, the Targa won’t quite match the performance of the coupé version – the maximum speed will be limited to 217mph.

Bugatti Veyron Targa: Only 80 will be build

Bugatti Veyron Targa
The Bugatti Veyron Targa will stay very exclusive with just 80 copies to be build ever.
In the beginning of this month, Bugatti’s spokesman Georges Keller confirmed that the Volkswagen owned company will indeed be producing a targa-top version of the Veyron. The 6.0L W16 engine will be tuned down a bit to produces a total of 987-hp.

Production will be limited to only 80 units after it makes its debut next year at a major auto show. Bugatti has still to finish the 300 production run of the Veyron coupe.

Bugatti Veyron: First copy sold in China for $3.6m

Bugatti Veyron
The very first copy of a Bugatti Veyron, the one which Bugatti brought to the Beijing Motor Show, has been sold to a Chinese customer for $3.6m. Maybe somebody should have told him that he can get the same car everywhere else for "just" 30% of that ...
The customer will fly to Bugatti's Molsheim headquarters to pick out the color scheme and options (apparently no one told him he could do it online), and pay a whopping 25 million yuan (approximately $3.6 million, more than twice the sticker price) for the privilege of owning the first Veyron in China. Mao who?

Bugatti Veyron: 7 pages of Auto Erotic

Bugatti Veyron
The Men's Vogue has a great piece about the Bugatti Veyron and why it's pure auto erotic. They even have a video. Make sure to check it out, interesting read!
Trees. Sun. Bridge. House. Guardrail. The Sicilian piedmont blurs in one long incomprehensible gout of liquid reality...treesunbridgehouseguardrail... The Bugatti Veyron bellows at 205 mph down the island's main autostrada. A deep aortic throb registers between my shoulder blades. I haven't blinked for, like, 10 minutes — I'm Keir Dullea in 2001. The truth is, I've driven this fast before, but never in a street car, never on a public road, and absolutely never on a cracked, sun-buckled hunk of weaving motorway like this. If I crash, the Sicilian highway department can expect a very strongly worded letter from me.

In the passenger seat, the Veyron's chief engineer, Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, natters on about the supernumerary challenges involved in building this $1.7 million supercar, officially the fastest production automobile in the world: the 12 radiators, the 16 cylinders, the four turbos, the 1,000-plus horsepower, the seven-speed double-clutch transmission, the endless calculations and aerodynamic refinements that keep this beautiful, wind-glossed capsule from flitting off the road in a fit of turbulence. I mention that it is quite amazing that two people can even converse in a car that's blitzing the atmosphere at 200-plus mph, kind of like having cocktails in the middle of a cyclone. "We worked very hard on cabin noise," says Herr Schreiber, plainly glad I've noticed. Then, looking at the pockmarked road ahead, he says, "Here, now is the time for maximum speed."

Lamborghini Murcielago, Bugatti Veyron: Got stretched!

Lamborghini Murcielago, Bugatti Veyron
Honestly we don't like stretch limos at all, but have a look at Carbonyte's creation of a Lamborghini Murcielago and they can do same for the Bugatti Veyron.
This time around, the Lambo is set to incorporate an additional rear axle for visual effect. Evidently not content to keep a low profile, Carbonyte is also working on plans for stretched versions of the two fastest seven-figure hyper-exotic supercars known to man: the Koenigsegg CCX and the Bugatti Veyron. We're a bit torn here: one part of us thinks Carbonyte ought to be stopped before they're allowed to hack apart any more exotics, while the other half is curious just to see them do it.

Bugatti Veyron Targa: Confirmed for 2009!

Bugatti Veyron Targa
Finally Bugatti has confirmed to build an open-top Bugatti Veyron, available next year.
We've known as much for a while, but according to a Georges Keller, a Bugatti spokesperson quoted by Automotive News, a drop-top Veyron is in the works and is due to launch sometime next year. Details are scarce, but according to an unnamed ex-Bugatti executive, the targa-topped hypercar will feature a removable hardtop, but its overtly wealthy owners will have to plan ahead, since there won't be any room in the Bug to store the roof on the go. According to the anonymous exec, the decision to go with a hard top instead of some kind of cloth piece was due to the design of the Veyron's safety cage.

Bugatti Veyron: Production increased

Bugatti Veyron
Due to popular demand Bugatti has increased the production of the Bugatti Veyron.
Customers with $1.5 million in hand and a spot on the waiting list should not, however, worry about quality issues commonly associated with rushing production. In order to increase production from 85 to 90 this year, Bugatti is considering shortening the break the factory has traditionally taken in the summer from three weeks down to one, thereby increasing productivity without rushing the job. Nor will the increased production mean more Veyrons produced: the final number will remain 300, of which 220 have already been ordered and 135 produced and delivered to date.

Bugatti Veyron: The 400km/h super-supercar

Bugatti Veyron
Nothing really new in this review, but it features a very nice video of the Bugatti Veyron from the Melbourne Motor Show. Enjoy!
No, we didn't get to drive it at 400km/h, nor did we even get to drive it, but a close encounter with this vehicular god at the Melbourne Motor Show was enough to leave us weak kneed.

Even those who know little about cars are awestruck by the car's off the wall styling. From its horse-shoe style grille all the way to its rounded rump, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 -- to give it its full name -- is impossibly low, voluptuous and outrageously styled.

Bugatti Veyron: The automotive holy grail

Bugatti Veyron
We found a nice, but rather lengthy, review of the Bugatti Veyron. Here's the best in short.
What does blow you away, is the view from the rear of the Veyron. The fully exposed engine is breathtaking. Two huge polished metal heat exchangers, beautiful in form, sit either side, ready to suck in the enormous volume of air needed to cool over 1001 plus horsepower, at full throttle.

Inside the Veyron, is pure art. Luxury, yes. But no high tech clutter. Every instrument, dial, and piece of switchgear could find a place in New York’s Museum of Modern Art. The steering wheel alone, with its embossed EB initials and beautiful form, should be in a glass case in the Chateau Saint Jean.
